Conductor Stefano Pagliani

Konzertmeister of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and of the same Philharmonic Orchestra from 1990 to 2000, is present in the Sony Classical recordings performed by the Milan Opera House (in particular as a soloist in "La strada" - N. Rota and "I Lombardi" - G. Verdi cond. R. Muti).

He also recorded for EMI (Vivaldi, Pergolesi), Arcadia, Agora, Dynamic, Tactus, Fonit Cetra (complete Brahms, Schumann, Ravel, Prokofiev and Respighi sonatas, complete Beethoven Strings trio, Mendelssohn Octet op. 20, etc.)

He performed as Konzertmeister in the most important Italian Orchestras, such as Maggio Musicale (Florence), S. Cecilia (Rome) and he founded "Trio d'archi della Scala", i "Virtuosi Italiani", i "Solisti della Scala".

In 2007 he took part as a soloist at the "Opening Konzert" of the Lucerne Festival, performing music by Ligeti and Bartok. From 2004 to 2015 Maestro Claudio Abbado invited him as a member of the Lucerne Philharmonic Orchestra formed by the best first parts of the European orchestras and of the "Orchestra Mozart".

Lorin Maazel has called him the most authoritative Konzertmeister present in Italy, he gained a great artistic-musical experience, deserving the appreciation and esteem of the most famous conductors: Metha, Abbado, Sawallish, Maazel, Sinopoli, Chung, Gergiev, Muti.

Thanks to his deep experience with these widely known batons, he also took the opportunity in conducting, especially in International Festivals – like Festival Città di Arezzo, Orvieto Strings Festival - and he paid attention to Italian operatic repertoire, in particular Puccini's repertoire, conducting Butterfly, Boheme and Turandot, often in cooperation with the great soprano Dimitra Theodossiou.

Guest of the most important international festivals, among his last tournèes we mention South America, Canada and North America (ONU building and Carnegy New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Van Couver), Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan 2013) China, Shanghai, Hong Kong and in Beijing conducting at NCPA.

He is professor at New Philarmonie Academy in Hong Kong, at the Accademia Sherazade in Rome, at the Fiesole Music School, at the "Toronto School of Music" Canada.

Lately he devoted his great knowledge as Konzertmeister and conductor in preparing and conducting Youth Orchestras, like La Scala Academy, the Asian Youth Orchestra, Orchestra Guido d’Arezzo, Orchestra della Magna Grecia and Orchestra Maderna.

On this purpose in 2019 he founded "Scuola Italiana d'Archi" (Italian Strings Academy), an innovative project where he gathers great musicians that join him in teaching and performing during full experiences masterclass and festivals.

The project involves students from all Italy as well as all around the world and they can find in there unique possibilities to improve, practice, perform and keep in touch with the musical world of competitions, auditions and concerts.
