Conductor Stefano Pagliani

He has been the first solo violin of La Scala Theatre Orchestra and of the homonymous
Philharmonic Orchestra from 1990 to 2000. He is featured in the Sony Classical recordings made by
the Theatre, especially as a soloist in the solos of Rota "La Strada", G. Verdi "I Lombardi" with
Riccardo Muti as conductor.

Moreover, he has recorded for EMI (Vivaldi,Pergolesi), Arcadia, Agorà, Dynamic, Tactus, Fonit
Cetra (complete sonatas by Brahms ,Schumann, Ravel, Prokofiev, Respighi) complete string trios
of Beethoven, Octet op. 20 by Mendelssohn, The Gran Duo concertante by Bottesini, "Estro
armonico" and "Quattro Stagioni" by Vivaldi ect.

Founder of "Trio d’archi della Scala", “i Virtuosi Italiani" , "i Solisti della Scala" and “l’Ensemble
Filarmonico Italiano”.

A regular host of the most important international festivals. His latest concert tours have been
organised in South America, Canada, North America (concert in the UN building in NYC), Asia,
Japan, Taiwan, Korea and China.

Over the years he has acquired a great deal of artistic and musical experience, deserving the
appreciation and respect of the most famous orchestra conductors as Karajan, Abbado, Solti, Metha,
Sawallish, Maazel, Sinopoli, Chung, Gergiev and Muti.

Stefano Pagliani started to conduct the Scala Philharmonic Orchestra in 1991, after a period of
intense studying with master Sinopoli and master Giulini. He also worked as a conductor with the
Milan Chamber Orchestra, I Virtuosi Italiani, I Solisti della Scala,Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano, I
Musici di Parma, L’Orchestra Sinfonica Guido D’Arezzo, L’Orchestra Filarmonica Umbra ect.

In 2009 he debuted at the Performing Art Center in Beijing, where he conducted the “Milan
Chamber Orchestra-La Scala Players” in a programme dedicated to the works of G.Verdi G.Puccini
and G.Rossini.

Later on, he conducted the orchestra at the KKL in Lucerne with airs and overtures of Verdi like La
Traviata, Don Carlo, Aida, Trovatore, Giovanna d’Arco, Nabucco.

In 2011 he was engaged in conducting the Rachmaninov piano concertos with symphonies by
Beethoven and he also opened the 36th Festival in Noto with a programme entirely dedicated to

For 2012 he’s planning on conducting “l’Elisir d’amore” by Donizetti, “La Traviata” by Verdi,
“Butterfly” by G. Puccini and doing a concert tour in Asia.
